Vietnam Visa on Arrival in 2025: What Changed and What to Bring
February 4, 20255 min read
Vietnam expanded its e-visa list to 80 nationalities in August 2024 and increased the maximum stay to 90 days, single or multiple entry. For most travelers, the e-visa is now the cleanest option.
When you still need Visa-on-Arrival (VOA)
- You're flying in within 24 hours and don't have time for the e-visa.
- Your nationality is not on the e-visa list.
- You need a 6-month or 1-year multi-entry visa for business.
Documents to bring
- Approval letter (printed, not just on your phone)
- 2 passport-sized photos (4×6 cm)
- Stamping fee: US$25 single entry, US$50 multiple entry — cash, exact USD or VND
- Passport with 6+ months validity and 2 blank pages
Tip: combine VOA with fast-track
The VOA counter is itself a queue. Pairing your visa-on-arrival with a fast-track service shrinks the entire airport process from ~2 hours to under 20 minutes.
